So you have a CurrentCost EnviR and netsmart gateway to upload your power consumption to the my.currentcost.com dashboard. It’s a good start, but the current cost dashboard doesn’t offer a very good view on your historical data. As you can see in the screenshot below it only offers daily and weekly views.   PastedGraphic-1           Though the dashboard has a new feature to download the raw data per week, it’s cumbersome to download you’re entire history and have to process the raw data in order to get nice graphs. So how do you solve this problem? One way is to use PVoutput.org, a community focussed on people tracking their solar panel power generation to compare and analyse. In addition to generated power, it is also able to track power consumption. It has a nice and elaborate dashboard view that offer great graphs with historical data. Read the rest of this post »

Jablotron Siren (JA-80L) arming and disarming beep

JA-80L

Configuring the Jablotron wall plug siren to sound a beep when the alarm system is armed or disarmed is easy. Off course the manual states this somewhere, but for those who are unable to find it I’ve made a small instruction.

Arm alarm confirmed by the siren emitting a Single Beep
Disarm alarm confirmed by the siren emitting a Double Beep

This instruction assumes the Siren in installed and enrolled into the system.

Enable or disable Arming Beep feature:

  1. press the siren’s button three times in rapid succession
  2. If the siren beeps two times, the feature is enabled
  3. If the siren beeps one time, the feature is disabled.

Enjoy!

IMG_5790The last couple of weeks my Logitech Harmony One universal remote did not hold it’s charge for very long, so I bought a replacement battery here.

However the old battery had swollen, and was stuck in the remote, something that seems to trouble more people.

Though Logitech does not state the presenter R400 works with Mac, I know it does. You can even find a Youtube video demonstrating the R800, which is compatible. Following several posts on the subject I found that entering a keyboard shortcut in the system settings menu is de easiest way to fully support it’s features.
