My Currentcost EnviR uploads data to pvoutput.org

September 25, 2014

So you have a CurrentCost EnviR and netsmart gateway to upload your power consumption to the my.currentcost.com dashboard. It’s a good start, but the current cost dashboard doesn’t offer a very good view on your historical data. As you can see in the screenshot below it only offers daily and weekly views.   PastedGraphic-1           Though the dashboard has a new feature to download the raw data per week, it’s cumbersome to download you’re entire history and have to process the raw data in order to get nice graphs. So how do you solve this problem? One way is to use PVoutput.org, a community focussed on people tracking their solar panel power generation to compare and analyse. In addition to generated power, it is also able to track power consumption. It has a nice and elaborate dashboard view that offer great graphs with historical data. (more…)

Currentcost Optismart works with Landis+Gyr ZME120ACd

February 5, 2013

Though Currentcost does not list the Landis+Gyr ZME120ACd as a supported energy meter, I can confirm this meter works with the Optismart. This is a meter used by Liander and has an infrared LED that pulses 1000 times per kWh.

After installing the Optismart and pairing it to the EnviR it gives a correct reading of the energy used. The Optismart sensor is magnetic, but a little to small to attach to the meter without help. There are two stickers included in the Optismart box. These can be used to  install the Optismart on non magnetic surfaces.

It was a long wait for the currentcost bridge to arrive, but it was worth it. I hooked the bridge up to my currentcost Envi and an ethernet cable. Installing it was a breeze and now it is uploading my energy and temperature results to currentcost and from there also to Goolge Powermeter.
